About Dr. Etafy
Dr. Mohamad Etafy completed his medical school training and surgical internship at Alazhar University in Egypt. Surgical and urological residency was completed at the Department of Urology of Alazhar University. He continued his work at this hospital as a clinical fellow, assistant lecturer and a lecturer of Urology. His doctorate degree thesis was based on Laparoscopic and Robotic Assisted Pyeloplasty for Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction, which was done while working as a research fellow at University of California Irvine. His research regarding pyeloplasty was highlighted on the UCI website. He was part of the team responsible for training urologists from all over the world in the mini fellowship program at University of California Irvine.
Dr. Etafy completed a two years clinical fellowship in Endourology and Robotics at Jackson Health System and a two year research fellowship in Endourology and Uro-Oncology at University of
California Irvine, together with a research fellowship at McGill University.
Dr. Mohamad Etafy has 32 publications with hundreds of citations worldwide; he is attributed as an author in 2 textbooks in Male Health. He has been selected as a reviewer in multiple reputable Urology journals. Dr. Etafy presented his work at some of the most prestigious urological meetings in the United States, including the American Urological Association and the World Congress. He is a Research Scholar Awards recipient from AUA.
His clinical interests include Endourology, Pelvic Floor Disorders, Erectile Dysfunction and Male Infertility, along with General Urology.
